Optimize Campaigns with Traffic Quality Scores

CPXcenter’s new Traffic Quality Index is an innovative, industry-first feature that gives ad network administrators a clear picture of the quality of their traffic sources. This is an invaluable optimization tool that will help optimize campaigns for increased ROI. But how does it work? Here’s a quick rundown of the TQX–what the numbers mean and what you can do with the information.

What Do the Numbers Mean?

CPXcenter’s TQX gives each traffic source (publisher website) a score from 0 to 100. This score rates a site based on the likelihood of its traffic to convert. 0 is the lowest score, and 100 is the highest. Quality traffic equals more conversions for your clients, and now you can easily identify the best traffic to offer your advertisers for the best ROI.

These scores are based on 3rd party auditing and our own growing pool of data. All traffic sources begin with a default score of 49 until there are at least 1000 impressions detected from the publisher website. Once the data from at least 1000 impressions is collected, the score will change based on the new data. The TQX score for every traffic source is continually updated as more impressions are collected and evaluated by our TQX engine.

Finding the TQX Score on the System

TQX campaign optimization

To find the TQX score for any publisher, go the the “Affiliate” tab at the top of your dashboard and click “Sites list.” You can search for a specific traffic source using any of the filtering options above the list. Once you find your publisher, click on the arrow to the left of their name. This gives you the basic information about your publisher. To see the information for their websites, click on “Details.” This takes you to the publisher’s page. Scroll down to see their websites (referred to here as “ad zones”). Here you can see the traffic quality score. If you click on the ad zone to see more details, the traffic quality index appears as a colored scale.

How to Optimize Campaigns with the TQX

TQX campaign optimization

The TQX makes optimizing campaigns really simple. Here’s how to do it: To optimize campaigns using the TQX, click on the “Campaign” tab under “Advertisers.” Then search for the campaign you’d like to optimize using the search fields at the top of the list. Choose the campaign and click “Details.” On this campaign page find the “Target Optimization” section. Here you can see the “Traffic Quality Control” settings. In the above example the optimization settings are set to allow traffic that has a TQX score of 30 or higher. To alter this setting, click “change.” Here you can put in any figure between 0 and 100.

And you’re done!
